1. Am I eligible to apply for a Hugg Trust scholarship?

High school seniors must be in the top 25% of their graduating class and meet the residency requirements.

2.  What are the residency requirements?

Students must have attended both junior and senior years at a Williamson County high school and live in Williamson County, Texas.

3.  How many scholarships are awarded each year?

The number of scholarships awarded and the amounts vary from year to year depending upon the number of eligible applications received.  The minimum award is typically $500.

4.  Do I have to write an essay?

No, an essay is not required.  A completed application, official high school transcript, a recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor, and a copy of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing a Student Aid Index (SAI) number are due by the May 1st deadline.

5.  What if I don’t qualify out of high school?  Can I apply as a college student?  If so, what are the qualifications?

College students may apply for the scholarship.  Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 in order to be considered for an award.

6.  What GPA do I have to maintain in college to keep my Hugg Trust scholarship?

Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 in order to meet the academic requirement for renewal consideration.

7.  When do I have to have my application submitted as a high school applicant or first time college applicant?

The deadline for scholarship consideration is May 1st.

9.  Will the amount of my scholarship stay the same from year to year?

Award amounts may vary from year to year.  Award levels are determined by the number of eligible applicants and the amount of funds available in the trust account.
